Perth Beaches

Perth has some of the best beaches in the world.
Within 15 minutes of the town centre, you can splash in the Indian Ocean and lie on the golden sands.

Morning is the best time to visit most beaches as the "Fremantle Doctor" โ€“ the local name of the cooling afternoon sea breeze โ€“ can tend to ruin the experience.

For those unfamiliar with the West Australian climate, be warned to be "sun smart" with sun cream and hats as the sun can be ferocious at the height of Summer.

Getting There

You are never far from a beach in Perth, as the city shows its obsession with the water by developing up and down the coast rather than inland.

Beaches can be reached by car, bus, train or walking, depending on where you are.
