Pink Lake

You will see plenty of things you will never see in any other part of the world in WA, and the Pink Lake is one of them.

Science is still unable to pinpoint why, but high salinity, abundant natural light and algae seem to be the combination that provides this unique watercolour.

Some great tours take you to the lake or jump on a plane and experience it from the air.

Getting There:

The Hutt Lagoon is next to the coast, with the blue ocean bringing out the bizarre pink of the lake.

The lake is between Geraldton and Kalbarri, about six hours from Perth.

You drive from Perth or use Geraldton or Kalbarri as a base to visit.  You can fly into both Geraldton and Kalbarri from Perth.

Accommodation Options:

There is a caravan park in Port Gregory; otherwise, the main accommodation options are in Kalbarri or Geraldton.
