National Park

Located near the Wheatbelt town of Hyden, is one of Australia’s most recognisable landforms.

Take a bush walk around the rock to see native flowers and birds. The rock also plays host to a popular music festival each year in spring.

Rising 15 metres from the ground and more than 100 metres long, the rock looks like a giant surf wave of multicoloured granite about to crash onto the bush below. It’s believed this amazing formation was more than 2,700 million years in the making.
Located 340 kilometres south-east of Perth, a four hour drive through picturesque farmland. You can drive yourself following the the Pathways to the Rock self drive trail.

Getting There

Flying is the popular way to get to Perth, and most tourists will arrive by plane at Perth International Airport.

The city is directly connected to Asia, the Middle East, New Zealand, Africa and Europe.

Those travelling from the Americas must transit through Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

You can drive to Perth from other parts of Australia, and it is a fascinating journey, but it is only for those with plenty of time.

People can also arrive in Perth on the Indian-Pacific train line.

The train connects Perth to Sydney and Adelaide.
